Individual Counseling

"Just because no one else can heal or do your inner work for you doesn't mean you can, should, or need to do it alone."

~ Lisa Olivera

Individual Counseling is a personal opportunity to receive support and experience growth during challenging times in life. Individual counseling can help one deal with many personal topics in life such as anger, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, marriage and relationship challenges, parenting problems, school difficulties, career changes etc.

What to expect in Individual Counseling?

You will have the opportunity to meet one on one with a licensed therapist in a confidential, judgment free environment. Together, you will establish goals and objectives to meet your specific needs. Therapeutic rapport is a key component of therapy, which can help a person experience a healthy, trusting relationship. Therapy sessions move at your own pace to afford you ample time for exploring and processing your concerns.

You’ll learn about your diagnoses, beliefs, moods, feelings, thoughts, and behaviors.  You’ll also identify limiting beliefs and unhealthy thinking patterns which contribute to destructive behaviors. Therapy helps you discover and practice using healthy coping skills to overcome obstacles and and improve your quality of life.

Who benefits from Individual Counseling?

We work with children and adults. The individuals we see range in levels of experiences, beliefs, and life goals. Clients come to therapy for a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, mood disorders, relationship issues, and spiritual formation. Through individual counseling, clients gain personal insight, grow in their interpersonal skills, increase self-esteem and communication skills, and gain a sense of control in their life.
